Bibatshu Thapa Chhetri

Analyst, Boston

Bibatshu graduated from Colby College in 2025 with a dual focus in Computer Science and Science, Technology, and Society. His CS research centered on building AI models and on tools and methods for interpretability and transparency. His STS training helped him examine how data, design choices, and governance shape real-world outcomes. He brings strong engineering skills and qualitative research sensibilities to address complex problems.

In 2024, Bibatshu led community-facing work based on field experience. He received a $10,000 Davis Projects for Peace grant to design and run a project in Nepal that advanced food-sovereignty efforts, including grassroots organizing, fundraising, and producing the documentary Digital Kisan to amplify community voices. At Colby, he served as student body president and worked to build inclusive campus communities. This experience continues to guide his collaborative approach to research and consulting.

Bibatshu enjoys connecting with people across disciplines to translate research into actionable policy and product decisions. His core expertise includes applied machine learning, AI interpretability and transparency, data ethics and governance, technology policy analysis, and mixed-methods research. In his free time, Bibatshu loves rock climbing, biking, playing spikeball, and catching up with close friends and family.
